TOPIC:  "Inequality in the Promised Land: Why Suburban Schools are Still Unequal"

R. L’Heureux Lewis-McCoy is an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Black Studies at the City College of New York – CUNY.  His forthcoming book Inequality in the Promised Land: Dilemmas in Race, Resources, and Suburban Schooling (Stanford, Summer 2014) examines the operation of a suburban school district and why educational inequality persists despite ample resources. His scholarship concentrates on educational inequality, gender justice, and policy formation.
